We have 3 chrysalis in the past 2 days and at least 4 caterpillars eating on the milkweed. There were 14 chrysalis which hatched the last week of July. Two chrysalis did not hatch. We have two species of milkweed, one which blooms yellow and one which blooms yellow and orange-rust. The caterpillars seem to prefer the latter; they practically stripped all leaves from it in July.
