As I looked out my front window briefly today I watched a female or juvenile ruby throat nectaring on one of my potted tropical milkweeds in the front yard. After moving to another tropical milkweed and feeding, it moved to my butterflybush, Buddleia davidii, fed, then flew off. This was in the afternoon. A little later, there was one sighted out my back patio door feeding from coral honeysuckle on the arbor. In a matter of seconds, 2 more hummingbirds appeared and all 3 flew off. I wasn't sure if it was an aggressive chase off or just a group moving through.
