Two Monarchs circled above the Luatris cylindracea plants in the front yard. They mated on the Liarits plant and then flew away attached and landed on a Balsam Fir in the same yard. After sitting on a branch there for 10 to 15 minutes they flew out of the yard still attached. It was late afternoon 5 to 6 pm.
Interestingly, for the next two weeks, the male continued to return to the yard frequently and cruise through as if looking for a mate.
