The first sighting of a caterpillar was on 08/23, a larva in the J position (now a chrysalis); the second sighting (for the entire summer) was a late instar on A. syriaca on 08/24. I have seen adults off and on since I came here in midApril but no larvae. Incidentally I am retired and visit the farm here only during the summer from April to the end of September
