Monarch Adult Sighted

Date: 08/25/2015

Number: 2

Two male monarchs flitting around in a redbud tree at Jackson Pond-early afternoon, clear, sunny, very little wind. The first monarchs I have seen in two years. They looked fresh and very active. There have been very few butterflies of any species this year. Normally I see tiger swallowtails, red admirals, red spotted purple, and cabbage whites in abundance during the summer. Cold winter/wet spring.
