Monarch Larva Sighted

Date: 08/24/2015

Number: 1

It has good size so appears to be several days old. There are about 40 milkweed plants mixed in with other plants favored by butterflies, bees and hummingbirds in places the growth is very thick and they are hard to see until they eat their way to the top of a plant. Found an old chrysalis that appears to have been on a tomato plant. So I guess they go on a walk-about before the change. I'll try to keep an eye on this one.
