i have previously reported to you a second larva queen on my potted milkweed plant. when i could see she had grown to a certain point, i brought her and her plants inside and created an environment around her with two wooden file cabinet drawers and screens. last night i found her lying on the underside of a plant stake that i had laid across from the pot to the back wall of the file drawer. later, i found her hanging there and this morning she had made her chrysalis. i assume she will emerge in 9-ish days and i am looking into finding someone from the Southwest Monarch Watch here to tag her before being released. Yippee!
