Monarch Adult Sighted

Date: 09/01/2015

Number: 12

The Monarchs are feeding briefly then moving on. There is almost no wind today and it is very hot and humid. The New England Aster are blooming more profusely now and the Monarchs seemed to have noticed. They have switched their attention from the phlox to the New England Aster. They also nectared at lavender Obedient plant, white Cosmos and Dog Edged Daisies. I expect a slow but steady stream of Monarchs to come through the yard today. There are usually one to two at a time whenever I look out into the yard. The latest I've seen a Monarch in the yard was yesterday at about 6:10pm after the wind had died down.
