I have had, typically, 1 Monarch in my yard at one time all summer long - all day when weather is right. With the exception of two sighting with 2 Monarchs, male and female, together. Today is my first day seeing 3 Monarchs all at the same time. Nectaring on tropical milkweed and resting in my Magnolia tree and among my dahlias and cosmos. Today, I caught a male, tagged it, tested it for OE to send to Georgia, and released it. After release, I have not seen it return.
