I'm down to one caterpillar on my swamp milkweed plant. I have had 4 all season. They start very small and then eat and eat and get huge and then disappear! I've found no chrysalis' at all! I don't know where they are going when they get big as there are no other milkweed plants nearby. There is a Russian Sage and a Coreopsis on each side of the swamp milkweed. There is a siberian iris on the bottom of this area. This is a pretty sheltered area in a corner by the garage door, so I don't think the birds are getting them. This is very frustrating. I hope they are surviving!
