On September 1 and several days before that, I noticed a large increase in the hummers feeding from my feeder. They seemed to be "stocking up" for the long journey. Today, September 2, we have only seen one hummer at the feeder. We definitely miss them when they leave. Our orioles left a couple of weeks ago. I still keep out the feeders for the occasional passer by.
