I planted 5 swamp milkweed plants this year, plus 2 survived from last year. Only 1 bloomed and something ate the blossoms so I have no seed pods. Two of the smaller plants were covered with aphids. I crushed the bugs by hand and transplanted them from a pot to the garden which I hope will be more agreeable for them. Most of the plants have yellowing leaves which is a sign of them heading towards dormancy.
Earlier this Summer I observed swamp milkweed growing with abundant flowers and pods at the Honey Suckle Tea House near Carrboro, NC.
