On recent hot days, increasing numbers of adult Monarchs are resting in my shady backyard. I have plenty of nectar sources in the sunny garden (and a few in the shade), but they seem to be drawn to the dappled shade of the backyard for some rest. Out of the five I saw this morning, at least two were females.
