We finally started seeing females in early August, after dutifully changing the nectar at least weekly. Now we have three females competing for several feeders in the vicinity all day long. They perch on a string of lights hanging over our yard and observe the scene, then take time to perch on the feeder and take long sips of nectar before chasing each other away. We are enjoying their competitive antics!
