We have been seeing Monarch Butterflies in our Monarch Way-Station garden here in the city of St. Louis since 8/11/15. On 8/11 there was one, on 8/14 two, and now we have four. They have been mating, and flying up stuck together then twirling downward and separating just before hitting the flowers. All the Monarch Café plants that we purchased at the St. Louis Butterfly house in March are now gigantic and blooming profusely, as well as lots of seeds we have planted that are abundantly filled with flowers. (Some of the plants are about 6' tall, or more.) I can't tell if its the same four Monarchs every time, but they are definitely into each other every day, feeding from early morning until dusk. Yesterday I noted that one of the butterflies is looking rather rag-tag in the wings. Perhaps from all the activity during the day. We are going to take pictures today.
