Hummingbird Sighting
Sightings report image

Date: 09/06/2015

Number: 6

The adult males and immature male left to move south a few days ago. Fortunately we've picked up several new migrating females. Had quite an aerial show last night. They're feeding on nectar feeders, black and blue salvias, pink Wendy's Wish salvias and salmon fuschia. One female loves to perch on a bamboo rod stuck in a salvia pot. Thunderstorm this morning didn't dampen their appetite. If things follow the usual pattern we'll only have hummers for a few more weeks. Cool front moving in tomorrow. Temperature has been in 80's with dew points in the 70's last few days.
