Monarch Waystation #271 reports 3 5th instar monarch larvae feeding on Tropical Milkweed on my front patio today. Depending on when they emerge as butterflies, they may be migrants or the parents of the migrants. As a side note, there are 50+ milkweed tussock moth caterpillars shredding my swamp milkweed in the back. I'm glad those cats can't crawl to the front and compete with these 3 monarchs! Photo shows one of the 3 monarchs sighted.
