We had at least 10 ruby-throated hummingbirds this evening. This is the most we've ever had in our yard at one time. 2 or 3 are immature males. They are feeding constantly on nectar feeders, black & blue salvias, pink Wendy's Wish salvia, and salmon fuschia. They really prefer the 4 oz high view feeders and the salvias. Sky clouded up this evening so hummers left to roost a little earlier around 7:46 p.m. The constant feeding and chasing was fun to watch. Several times they would pass about 18 inches in front of our face when chasing each other.
For us this was a very good evening for watching hummers.
