Sightings report image

Number: 1

This was my first Bald Eagle sighting and, needless to say, it was very exciting! My boyfriend & I were out boating on Center Hill Lake. We came around a bend and I noticed that he was looking at the trees on the top of a 100+ foot rock face that borders the portion of the lake approximately 1 mile north of the Highway 56 bridge. I looked in the direction he was looking but didn't see anything. Suddenly he exclaimed "Oh wow, that's a Bald Eagle!" I finally saw it and managed to snap a quick photo before he flew off to land on another branch several hundred yards down. We slowly coasted to where he was and, again, he flew off. This time I was able to get some shots of him in flight. I have an older camera phone so the picture quality is not the best but still worthy of sharing :)
