Monarch Adult Sighted
Sightings report image

Date: 09/09/2015

Number: 5

Just a tidbit of info, I have a large number of five foot high Swamp Milkweed this year with a bit of Common and Tropical thrown in. Since mid August, I've had a steady stream, on a daily basis of 3 to 5 Monarchs patrolling the Garden. Mostly females, laying eggs. This is a departure from last year when most i had were males. I have recently released about 14 Monarchs, almost all females.
Today i found the first worn adult female i've seen since the North bound Monarchs started their flight. I have included a photo. The Swamp is beginning to decline in flowers, but that didn't stop this female for depositing eggs. Looking good on my end of the world.
