Peak for butterflies in my yard! Counted 35 but likely 40 were visiting. Heavy nectaring on liatris aspera. Some on zinnias. Male and female monarchs. I have not seen eggs or caterpillars these weeks, but there were 3 mated pairs during the past few weeks. The milkweed I see here and nearby is very old. Next year I will cut it down, hopefully at a good time for it to come up again fresh for late August.
