Monarch Egg Sighted

Date: 09/06/2015

Number: 21

Not nearly as many adults seen this year. One or two females laying this week. The plants in my garden have largely gone uneaten. On my porch, down to the stems, but they pushed out new leaves right away. The small scatter of eggs were found on plants in the Butterfly Farm, a greenhouse full of three varieties of milkweed, including a native. We are raising this batch in very large fine-mesh cages to protect from tachinids and predating beetles.
