Monarch sightings have been few and far between this summer, but at present have increased to seeing small groups, 3-5 at a time, nectaring in our garden. This is a week earlier than prior years migratory behavior that the lion's share of migration activity starts mid september, 2007-2014, and is coincident with the low pressure system that came in last night bringing the first rain we've seen in three weeks.
