I was delighted to see 5 monarchs today while volunteering in the butterfly garden at the Florida Botanical Gardens in Largo, Florida. Not only did I see monarch butterflies enjoying nectar but also saw two females laying eggs on the milkweed plants. We just moved this summer from New York to Florida so I am learning about this population of monarch butterflies that does not migrate to Mexico.
