Watched a female laying eggs on milkweed in my yard this afternoon. Then around sunset, I found not one, but TWO PAIRS mating in my yard. I was like - HUH?!? Aren't you guys supposed to be heading south? Just prior to this, I had been finding lots of fat, healthy fifth instars, now I am looking for little guys as well and hope they can make it to adulthood before it freezes.
