Sightings report image

Date: 09/09/2015

Number: 1

As my husband and I were eating breakfast on our backyard patio, we spotted a beautiful Monarch butterfly going from zinnia to zinnia in one of our flower gardens. It must have spent 30-45 minutes feeding from the zinnias. After it had finished eating, the Monarch flew to a zinnia, folded its wings, and stayed there apparently resting for a long period of time. The Monarch was still there resting when we came back into the house after a an extended length of time.
