I read the story regarding monarch butterflies in the National Geographic. in response to the article I purchased 12 milkweed plants and planted them in my yard. I purchased 3 flowering butterfly bushes from my local nursery as a food source for the butterflies. Is there any other food source they will use?

I have seen 3 adult butterflies between the 10th and 30th of August.

I have 9 larva on the milkweed plants. Six have dropped off the plants. Three new larva are now feeding.
