Hummingbird Sighting

Date: 09/11/2015

Number: 3

We were on vacation 8/21-9/7 so they could not use the feeders. I was so afraid to find that they were gone without our goodbyes. Upon our return I immediately put out 2 feeders. Within a few hours, I had three or four females fighting for the syrup. About 6 feet from the one feeder is a large basil plant that has gone to flower. They seem to love the tiny white basil flowers. One female was attacking the plant so vigorously that for brief second she had pulled the blossom off the stem and it stuck to her beek . Oh for a photo of that!!
