Monarch Larva Sighted

Date: 09/11/2015

Number: 2

The caterpillars were both very large and eating my remaining younger milkweed plants. Unfortunately, most plants are mature with pods. It was a sunny afternoon about 80 degrees. A monarch butterfly landed on the blue spruce tree nearby. It rested there all morning and then left. I have planted a large milkweed garden for the past 5 years to attract the species.
