Cooler day, the heat and drought finally broke and it feels like fall. Tagged 7 raised monarchs today, caught and tagged 3 wild monarchs and missed 2 more. The wild monarchs were huge and in prime condition....looked fat and enjoyed their stop of a drink of ironweed and goldenrod. New England Asters are just barely open. Best year in about 3 years to have monarchs coming thru the yard and also raising them....so much better than last year when I didn't even tag...(photo-5 of the 7 tagged raised monarchs before they took off for the sky.)
