Two years ago, we planted a Monarch Waystation at our school. Upon return to school this week, our third and fourth graders counted nine chrysalises hanging from concrete overhangs near the garden. (One was right above our Monarch Waystation sign.) There was also one caterpillar getting ready on a window frame. On Thursday, Sept. 10th, we saw two adults already emerged and observed two more emerging from their chrysalis. Several more chrysalises were turning gray/black.
