The day was sunny and beautiful with the wind blowing about 20 miles an hour. At Neal Smith National Wildlife Refuge, we observed 19 monarchs during a visit of an hour. For the record (as it shows on this site at that time), we saw more than 3,000 monarchs on a single day.
