I have had a lot of experience with Ruby Throats - lived in Wisconsin for over 30 years and fed them regularly. Now in Fort Lauderdale for over 10 years - feed the birdies from my 3rd floor Condo Patio - tried a nice H-bird Feeder - have only seen ONE in over 3 years at my feeder. I really think it's because of the abundance of Natural Flowers down here year-round………..they are not going to be tempted by anything non-natural when they have that choice…………or maybe where I am is not a Fly Route??
