Monarch Adult Sighted

Date: 09/13/2015

Number: 2

One adult male and one adult female observed mating in my garden in late afternoon. They alighted on a covered barbeque grill cover a few feet from where I was standing and continued to stay there joined, the male's wings still for nearly a minute before he flitted upward into a crape myrtle with her attached, then from there higher into taller and denser foliage, when I lost sight. This occurred very near the large patches of tropical milkweed growing in my garden, where there have been Monarchs taking nectar and ovipositing for a number of days. Super generation in progress, hoping a good number get past the predators to become butterfly.
