Sightings report image

Date: 09/14/2015

Number: 3

Released three beauties - 2 males and 1 female. These butterflies were from the caterpillars I found on milkweed in my garden in late August.

Time 1PM

After two days of cold and rain, we have a much better day today - Temps in the mid 60s. Sun and clouds and strong breezes.

The two males headed for the nearby trees.

The female (One front leg missing) stayed on the grass near my garden. I watched one butterfly struggling to get out of the chrysalis casing. Perhaps this female lost her leg then. I hope she will be OK.
