Monarch Larva Sighted
Sightings report image

Date: 09/15/2015

Number: 2

Found two caterpillars in the milkweed patch at the Daniel Boone Native Gardens today. The larger one was munching along on a leaf, while the smaller one was just sitting at the top of a stalk, maybe getting ready to molt. There were a good number of milkweed tussock moth caterpillars in the same patch of plants as well, and quite a few stalks with seed pods but all the leaves gone. It's a large patch of common milkweed though and still plenty of food left for all the caterpillars in it.
