Mid-morning; mostly sunny. A butterfly was still in its chrysalis on my garden fence yesterday morning, 15 feet from the nearest (swamp) milkweed plant. Emerged later yesterday afternoon (9/15/2015). "Hairs" on outside of chrysalis (in photo) are milkweed seed fluff. Stayed on fence overnight (low temperature was probably around 50F). Took flight this morning about 9:30AM.
