Two separate sightings of Monarch butterflies or a Monarch butterfly nectering among wildflowers near my home. Was able to see each of them well enough to rule out their being viceroys. The first sighting seemed to be a female as the interior veins appeared thick but I could not see the second one well enough to determine sex. The first one flew south over a meadow after feeding. It may have returned for a second bite to eat or another Monarch may have shown up later.
