Hummingbird Sighting

Date: 09/17/2015

Number: 1

Surprise visitor! My last sighting of Residential HB's were a week ago, today. Was just about to step outside at 12:57 pm (CDT), and noticed a small bird swooping down, towards the Feeder. Looks like a Female HB. Initially she was sort of hovering over the Top of the Feeder, picking at it. Within seconds, she figured it out. Dropped down to the perch. She sits & drinks for long periods of time. She goes back n forth, with feeding, then flying off to a nearby line, and doing what looks like "pruning her feathers". She appears tired & hungry. Sure glad I'm keeping my feeder up & cleaned on a regular basis !!
