Hummingbird, Nectaring from Flowers

Date: 09/12/2015

Number: 2

Two female Ruby Throated Hummingbirds found the few blooming flowers left in the cleome surrulata in my backyard. And they were regularly visiting the torch tihonias. The females were behaving aggressively toward each other. One of the females attempts to have dominance over the whole yard both blooming plants and feeders. She harasses other birds at the seed feeders and butterflies and bees in the flowers. The ladies were so intent on running the other off I was nearly hit in the head while sitting on my patio. Think I need a helmet.
