Hummingbird Sighting

Date: 09/18/2015

Number: 1

My last report was on 9/6/15 with 1 juvie female left. Her little juvie "friend" had left the day before. I figured she'd be leaving within a day or 2 from my last report, but 12 days later on Sept. 18, we're thrilled to see that she's still here!! The latest we've had any hummers in the Fall was Sept. 9, 9 days earlier than today. Our days have been in the upper 70's to mid 80's & the nights have been between the low 50's to mid 60's, with the next 10 days being about the same temps day & night. This little girl doesn't appear to have fattened up at all & even tho we're still enjoying seeing her, we hope she leaves before the temps get too much lower than what our nights have been. We do really miss all the rest of the gang & all of their antics & will miss this young lady when she's gone.....they won't be back for another 7 months in the end of April.....sigh...... Will still be keeping the feeders out till mid Oct., or so for any migrants passing thru.
