While hiking for about an hour, I saw single monarchs in flight. This is more than I can remember in any one year. I have also released 30 monarchs (11 males, 19 females) this past week and 89 in total (all fourth generation). I still have 41 chrysalises. This will be my second best year since I began "raising" monarchs in 2010.
