I live just west of Austin, TX and as of today (9/18), I have about a dozen hummingbirds in my yard. it is difficult to get an exact number as I have six nectar feeders staged on different sides of my house. Of the dozen hummers seen, one is an adult male Ruby-throated, one is a juvenile male Ruby-throated (he has only about four gorget feathers), and the rest are females and juveniles. I haven't seen my usual Black-chinned hummers in about two weeks.
