Hummingbird Sighting (Adult Male)

Date: 09/18/2015

Number: 1

One adult RT male sighted on flowers today--not sure if he is the one spotted yesterday or a newbie. This bird prefers flowers to the feeders--he hits blooms of red pentas, russian sage, nepeta walker's low, black and blue salvia and white althea bush blooms before turning to the feeders.

Weather low of 57 F, high mid 80's F, sunny and very low breezes. Due to drought I have been watering plants to try to sustain blooms. My blue chip butterfly bushes quit blooming early (they were popular until the blooms stopped.) Neighbors with older, larger butterfly bushes still have some blooms (but less than usual). Weather due to be similar Sat. but much cooler Sunday (highs in 70's).
