Hummingbird Sighting

Date: 09/18/2015

Number: 4

4 Ruby throated hummingbirds, 3 males, 1 female sited at one of my feeders and around a hanging basket of purple wave petunias, in the evening hours between 6:30 to 8:30 PM. They would feed, rest in a nearby tree, fly about the yard (I think to the Hostas blooming on the west side of the house, and come back to the feeders. This activity went on until just before sunset when they all suddenly flew away in a easterly direction. I have had a male and female visiting this feeder for about 2 weeks, the female about 1 month. This is the first time this year I have seen 4 at a time.
