There may have been many more I just don’t know. I planted a row of 48 milkweed/butterfly weed plants that I had started from seed last winter. There is not a leaf left by 9-18 because of the caterpillars. I am attaching a photo of one plant taken 9-12. I thought the plants were just moister stressed until I saw these. I am so excited. I have one row of marigolds about 8 feet away. Saw a stage 5 cat in there as the milkweed was disappearing so am hopeful they crawled off to pupate.
