At 7:30 p.m. I observed a single adult Monarch male visiting flowers in our native landscape. He first visited the Obedient plant, then flitted over to the live oak tree, where he rested long enough for me to take this picture. He seems in very good condition, maybe didn't migrate all the way from the North.
We live in a rural area, there is a prolonged drought and very little in the way of blooming plants outside of our yard.
