While a 5th grade art class was drawing plants in our butterfly garden, a student spotted a monarch that flew in and started feeding on the butterfly bush by the nurse's office. The monarch joined another black butterfly that was already feeding on the flowers. the monarch stayed for about five minutes then flew away. Students spotted a second monarch with a chipped wing at the same bush a few minutes later, but it only stayed for a few seconds before flying away.
