We noticed about 60 (conservative estimate) Monarchs in the maple tree in our backyard. I noticed only a few 2 days ago and then last night (the 22nd) there were over 60. It's hard to get an accurate count because while a lot of them are in the lower branches, many of them are also higher up. Today (the 23rd) we had rain most of the day and they are all still out there. The photograph is of a collection of them on a lower hanging branch. This photo was taken about 30 minutes before sunset, facing west.
