Sightings report image

Number: 30

We had a cool front come in & the monarchs are here in force!
I have never had so many here at once, such a wonderful sight.

We did not get any rain,it is so dry in this area, but I am able to irrigate our place.my flowers are in good shape.

Our temps are above average,in low 90's for highs, lows in the 60-70's. North NE winds 5-10 mph.

Mexican sunflowers & Will Rodgers zinnias are a favorite, the Canadian goldenrod is starting to bloom.

The monarchs are very fresh in good shape. I have noticed that they are mostly males. They stay on the flowers until way past sundown, just enough light to fly up to roost.

9/22/15 through 9/23/15

I counted 28 monarchs today, they are fueling up here for a few days I guess.
Still North NE winds, still warmer than normal.
